The Her Inner World Healing Collective: We're LIVE!

I have been pondering over this thing for two years now. The first year, I completely denied myself the pleasure of even contemplating it. The second year, which was twenty twenty-three, I allowed my mind to wander about what it would be like. The Hurt in a World Healing Collective was something I wanted to create specifically for Black women.

I understand there’s a lot of controversy when you do something for a particular group. So, let me say this: before it’s about race, it is about culture. It’s about the unique narratives that Black women have to navigate. If you’re a non-Black woman and you’re offended that I created a brand for the healing of Black women specifically, it’s because you don’t understand. You don’t understand how we have to get through life. You don’t understand the hand we’ve been dealt. And that’s okay. But I’m not going to spend my time—not now, not ever—explaining why I had to stand in my purpose and create something for the healing of Black women.

Half of twenty twenty-three was an internal debate. I bought the domain. I set up the social media accounts. But I wasn’t ready to move forward. I was still debating with myself. First of all, who do you think you are? To answer that, I went and got certified as a transformational coach. Then the question became: okay, you have this little certificate, but who’s going to listen to you? In response to that, I started putting out content about Black women healing, just to test the waters.

Then came the next defeating question: what are you even going to do? What’s going to make you different from everyone else who calls themselves a coach? I sat with that one for a long time. I prayed about it. I asked for clarity. And then it came to me: luxury healing retreats for Black women. Small, intentional retreats where we pamper our guests.

At these retreats, you’ll receive gifts throughout your stay. We’ll sit down with a therapist, wind down with a glass of wine, and wrap ourselves in fluffy blankets. We’ll talk about things we might not get to share elsewhere. There will be massages or pedicures, meditation, reiki, breathwork, and maybe even sessions on seduction, sensuality, and body positivity. Every retreat will be customized to the participants—it’s not a one-size-fits-all experience. When I think about it, I truly light up.

My bread and butter at one time was wedding and event planning. While there were parts I loved—like floral arrangements, decorating venues, and giving opportunities to vendors—I didn’t enjoy the production part. I’m talking three hundred people at a wedding—it was overwhelming. Now, I’m taking the best parts of that work and channeling it into my purpose: the Hurt in a World Healing Collective.

Aesthetically, nothing will be held back. These retreats will be beautiful, safe, and sacred spaces. And now, we’re live. I’m done with the internal debates. We’re out here, and we’re doing it. I’m excited, and I hope you’re excited too.
